Link Group Ltd Chair Robbie Robertson to stand down

Published on January 18 2012

Having completed ten years of active service on the board of Link Group Ltd, Robbie Robertson is standing down as Chairman, a post he has held since September 2007.

A former manager of the National and Provincial Building Society (and its successors), Robbie brought considerable expertise to Link, especially in the areas of finance, funding and human resource management. His golfing prowess was also useful when it came to Lintel Trust and other tournaments...

Peter Foreman, Link’s Vice-Chairman (who has been elected Chairman to succeed Robbie) said: ‘’Link owes a significant debt of gratitude to Robbie who stepped into the breach when the previous Chairman passed away. Douglas Sievewright was indeed a hard act to follow but Robbie has proved more than worthy’’.

Robbie responded: “I wish to thank not only all the board members and staff for their support but also everyone whom I have had the pleasure of meeting and dealing with. I have never experienced such a level of personal commitment to (and enthusiasm for) improving housing conditions, health and wellbeing as I have during my involvement in the affordable housing sector.”

Now in its 50th year, Link has a proud record of delivering a wide range of housing and related services. And during Robbie’s watch - and with his strong support - it has extended even further, welcoming two RSLs into the group and developing Private Sector Leasing, Access Ownership, Older Persons Advice, SmartLiving and other award-winning projects.
